SUDAN - SSMO

SUDANESE STANDARDS AND METROLOGY ORGANIZATION (SSMO)

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization (SSMO) has authorized Baltic Control® to verify product conformity prior to shipments to Sudan.

The PVoC program commenced on November 2, 2015.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Protection of consumers and the environment
  • Ensuring assurance of conformity
  • Faster release of goods at Sudanese border crossings and entry points

PROCESS:

The exporter applies for a Certificate of Conformity to Baltic Control® offices according to the contact information provided below. This application must include:

  • Proforma invoice / final invoice / packing list / name and contact details of the importer and exporter
  • Conformity documents or test reports demonstrating compliance with SSMO or international/regional standards (issued by ISO 17025 accredited laboratories)
  • Certificates regarding the quality / safety management system
  • Information on the location of the products and the planned date for pre-shipment physical inspection

BALTIC CONTROL® TEAM MISSION

  • Baltic Control® reviews the provided information and documents
  • The client/exporter is contacted to coordinate the physical inspection
  • Where necessary, samples are sent to an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
  • Consistency of the data collected during the inspection process is verified
  • Upon satisfactory results, a secure Certificate of Inspection (COI) is issued along with the final invoice, transport document, CoA, phytosanitary certificate, and certificate of origin

VERIFICATION UPON ARRIVAL

Verification is conducted by the Baltic Control® team when the goods arrive at the Sudanese points of entry. When a shipment is opened by customs, the condition of the consignment and the packages is visually inspected.
